Parlette and Condotta to hold tele-town hall meeting on April 7
12th District residents can participate from home just by calling in

March 26, 2009

OLYMPIA… State Sen. Linda Evans Parlette and Rep. Cary Condotta are inviting residents of the 12th Legislative District to participate in a telephone town hall meeting to ask questions about what’s going on in the 2009 legislative session. The event will take place on Tuesday, April 7, from 7 - 8 p.m.

Residents can call in and participate in a community dialogue from the comfort of their own homes by dialing 1-877-229-8493 and entering PIN # 13569. The call begins at approximately 7 p.m. and lasts for one hour.

“This is great timing for a telephone town hall,” said Parlette, R-Wenatchee. “The Senate budget is expected to be out about a week beforehand, so we will be right in the middle of discussions about the state’s priorities for the next two years. It’s a great time to hear from everyone and get input about the budget, key pieces of legislation and other issues of importance. Talking with citizens across the district at this critical time will help me better serve them. I hope everyone will take advantage of this opportunity to share their thoughts.”

"Folks are busy and in such a large geographic district this technology is an easy way for them to connect with me without leaving home," said Condotta."There are big decisions being made every year in Olympia, but this year the majority party is talking about tax increases to bail out state government spending. Nothing would impact families more than higher costs right now. This call will allow me to hear directly from constituents what their top spending priorities are and ensure the right decisions are made on their behalf."

During the tele-town hall, the two legislators will listen to residents, answer their questions and discuss a wide variety of topics related to the 2009 session. Citizens can listen in to the call, ask questions, and take part in instant polls without ever leaving home.
